At the beginning of August the long awaited data centre standard TIA942:2012 was released. Formally known as ANSI/TIA-942-A-2012 it contains some interesting changes.
The TIA942 standard was originally published in 2005 and was the first data centre standard giving recommendations on facility design. It contains recommendations for many aspects of data centre design including a definition of Tier levels against which Capitoline offer data centre certification services.
Capitoline has been advising clients on meeting the Tier design requirements of the TIA942 standard since its original release in 2005 and provides auditing and certification of data centre against the TIA data centre standard.
In addition Capitoline’s data centre training features the TIA942 standard along with other important standards which focus on data centre design and operations management.
