Durham Constabulary Data Centre Audit, UK

Durham Constabulary is the police force that covers the north east of England in the County of Durham. Their IT system relies on their data centre located within the police headquarters. The management felt that to comply with the requirements of the European Union Code of Conduct on data centres plus all EU health & safety at work requirements then a full audit should be done.

Capitoline was engaged to undertake the audit and measure all power consumption for the site and for the IT equipment and so could calculate all the metrics required by the EU Code of Conduct. Capitoline also prepared an improvement plan divided up into short term and easy gains, mid-term and long term improvement plans.

The audit also measured temperatures, humidity, noise levels, lighting levels, site physical security and delivered an overall personnel and business continuity risk assessment.
