The ISO/IEC 22237, International Data Centre standard is the most recent and comprehensive data centre standard to be published and was originally based on the EN50600 European Data Centre Standard series. Capitoline is pleased to be able to offer auditing and assessment of designs and facilities against the ISO/IEC 22237 Data Centre standard. Where a design or facility is deemed to meet substantially meet the requirements of the standard a certificate will be issued. We have developed a unique remote auditing capability driven by the recent pandemic. This often means that audits can be completed more economically and on a shorter timescale. However, we are still able to carry out physically audits of your site where travel is practical.
Almost every organisation in the world depends on IT to function. Whether they operate a large data centre or a small computer room, availability is of paramount importance. This has led to a focus on creating fault tolerant data centre design.
There are a number of data centre standards which describe 4 levels of fault tolerance
- TIA-942 calls them Ratings
- BICSI-002 and EN50600 and ISO/IEC 22237 call them Classes
- The UpTime Institute calls them Tiers
The engineering philosophy in each case is very similar although not identical
- Enough components to do the job
- Some component redundancy
- Concurrently maintainable
- Fault tolerant
Capitoline auditors are Chartered Engineers with many year’s experience in data centre design and auditing. Capitoline has been providing data centre auditing and certification since 2005 and are probably the most experienced data centre auditors in the world. Capitoline is a contributor to the European CENELEC data centre standards committee developing the EN50600 data centre standard. Capitoline is also a member of the TIA, which publishes the TIA-942 Data Centre Standard and has access to the TIA standards-writing committees. Capitoline is therefore uniquely positioned to provide auditing and certification of data centres against ISO/IEC 22237, EN50600 and TIA-942 data centre standards.
